The current economic system is broken. Everyone in power seems to be obsessed with growth at all costs whilst people, services and the environment suffer. As Greens we know that you can't have infinite growth on a finite planet. So, is there another way? Cllr Julian Dean (Porthill, Frankwell and Kingsland), will start the discussion off with a talk about Doughnut Economics.
Julian says: "What sort of economy can sustain both the planet and its people? What do convincing alternatives to destructive and devisive 'growth' look like? This will be an interactive evening to help us all feel more confident with some useful ideas from Kate Raworth's 'Doughnut Economics'. You don't need to read the book in advance!".
Bring a pudding to share and don't forget a bowl and a spoon!
