News from our AGM

7 November 2015

As reported, fairly and squarely, by the Shropshire Star...

"Shrewsbury and North Shropshire's Green Party has elected its committee at
its annual meeting.

The election saw Emma Bullard named as co-ordinator, Tony Newby as
treasurer, Olly Rose as events and social organiser, Liz Evans as
membership secretary and Stebe Boulding as election agent.

The meeting heard that the past year has seen memebership of the branch
increase from 82 to 307 - a 275% increase.

Newly re-elected co-ordinator Emma Bullard said "we know that Green Party
concepts of sustainability and fairness chime with most people's values.
The general election vote and responses on the doorstep and on social
media tell us that many more people are willing to give us their vote; to
vote for what they believe in."

The meeting also saw members provide strong support for Belle Vue resident
Sam Taylor who is the Green Party's candidate for the upcoming by-election
to be held on November the 12th.

Members also expressed concern at the current changes to voter
registration and people were encouraged to vote, or check if they are on
the register at http://gov.uk/register-to-vote.
